Real Bride - Liandi
Liandi must have been one of the bubbliest brides we have had the pleasure of meeting. In her first fitting she was constantly smiling and her infectious laugh made her such a joy to be around. From the very first moment she tried on our V-Back lace dress, this beautiful bride just illuminated the entire room - and we knew she had found her dream dress...

Tell us how you met your partner ( please include the proposal story:) )
We met at a singles event. Both of us went to support our friends that wanted to go and right at the end of the evening, Xander walked up to me and we started chatting. We went out a couple of times after that, and like they say, the rest is history :)
Xander asked me to marry him 9 months after we started dating. We went away for a weekend to Tulbagh and he planned a picnic, next to the river, on the farm where we were staying. I had no idea he was going to ask me, such a wonderful surprise. It was a beautiful setting and a very special moment for us both.
When and Where did you get married?
We got married on 11 March 2017 at Nuy Valley Guest Farm, Worcester.
What made you choose the venue and the date?
We wanted an outdoor wedding, from the ceremony, the pre-drinks, to the reception. The venue offered outdoor options for all of these and had beautiful gardens with stunning views. We chose March, because the weather is pleasant that time of year.
What was the theme of your wedding?
Any tips for future brides when choosing a theme?
Choose something that shows a part of both you and your fiance's personality.

How did you hear about Blackeyed Susan?
About two years ago a friend of mine got married and we went to a bridal expo for some ideas. That is where I first saw the Blackeyed Susan brand. I loved the style and it just stuck with me, so when I got engaged, I knew Blackeyed Susan will be my first stop (and my last :) )
What made you choose the dress you chose?
I love the simplicity of the dress and fell in love with the open back and ribbon bow. It rounded off the dress so beautifully.

How was your experience with fitting your dress and the final product?
The fittings were very enjoyable from the first fitting to the last fitting. My dress was perfect!

Any advice or tips for bride-to-be’s when choosing their dream dress?
Choose the dress that makes you smile the brightest and remember to choose something that is comfortable.

Your beautiful documentary style photos were taken by Sveta Becker. Why did you choose this photographer to capture your special day?
She is a friend of ours and we wanted to be surrounded by people we love, so she was obvious choice.

What was your most memorable/favourite part of your special day?
Greeting all our guests as Mr & Mrs Rautenbach!

Any advice for future brides for the overall planning of their wedding and how to deal with their nerves on the day?
Regarding the planning, try and delegate tasks where possible. An extra pair of hands is always helpful.
Surround yourself with close friends and family during this time. They will know how to make you feel relaxed.
